The Canada Caregivers Program allows foreign citizens to work as carers and eventually become permanent citizens. This program has two primary streams: the Caring for Children Pathway and the Caring for People with High Medical Needs Pathway.
Both paths require carers to undergo a medical examination and get a police certificate to enter Canada. They must also offer proof of their education and job experience.
Canada Caregivers Program attempts to relieve Canada’s carer shortage while providing a path to permanent residency for foreign employees. It allows caregivers to work and contribute to Canadian society while moderating with their families.
